3D Printing: Three-Dimensional Design
3D printing refers to the processes in which physical material is manipulated with a computer to create a three-dimensional object. Material, such as liquid or powder grains, are fused together. Objects are produced using digital model data 3D printing builds a three-dimensional object from computer-aided design (CAD) model, usually by successively adding material layer by layer.

Before printing a 3D model, it must be examined for errors. Sometimes these problems are not possible to fix using a built-in “repair” function and require an experienced designer to manually “tweak” the design and regenerate the file. Once the 3D model shows no errors, the file needs to be processed by a "slicer," which converts the model into thin layers, producing a specific type of printer file that can be printed by a 3D printer.
