Physical Prototypes

The Physical Design in Your Hands

When you receive your physical product prototype, it should be inspected for size and usability in relation to your original idea.

*Will it fill the need you had in mind?

*Will it "fit" with any or all other designs that make up your entire product?

*Is it exactly how you envisioned it?

Edits and tweaking are part of the design process, so don't be alarmed if the first offering needs a little more attention. Once you have approved your prototype, you can take all of the design files GDC has produced and hand them to your manufacturer.

Creation of a 3D model can take anywhere from several hours to several days. Printing can be faster, more flexible, and less expensive than injection molding when producing prototypes or relatively small quantities of parts.
